Notice of Public Consultation Centre No. 1 - Vaughan Metropolitan Centre - Master Servicing Class Environmental Assessment Master Plan

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The City of Vaughan is undertaking a Municipal Servicing Master Plan Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study to assess what municipal servicing improvements and/or modifications to the stormwater, water, and wastewater services will be required to implement the development objectives outlined in the proposed Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Secondary Plan. The projects are being assessed with the intention of fulfilling the Phase 1 and Phase 2 requirements of the Municipal Class EA process.



MASTER PLAN CLASS EA
The City has retained The Municipal Infrastructure Group Ltd. to complete the Master Plan Class EA Study. The Study is being conducted in accordance with the Master Plan process as outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (October 2000, as amended in 2007). The Master Plan Class EA process includes public and review agency consultation, an assessment of the problem and opportunities, evaluation of alternative solutions, assessment of potential effects on the environment, and identification of reasonable measures to mitigate any adverse effects. The preferred solution(s) will be determined based on engineering requirements, environmental considerations, public input and information gathered during the study.

PUBLIC CONSULTATION CENTRE
Details regarding the project will be presented at the first Public Consultation Centre (PCC) to provide interested stakeholders with an opportunity to meet the Project Team and to discuss existing conditions, constraints, and alternative solutions. The Study Team will also present the project schedule and next steps in the Class EA process. The PCC will include opportunities for interactive discussions to engage participants and solicit their input. The first PCC will be held as follows:
