Senior Municipal Engineer/Project Manager – Linear Works

The Municipal Infrastructure Group is a growing dynamic consulting engineering firm. We provide high standards of technical, management and related services to engineer, inspect and administer construction projects from small site servicing plans to large, multifaceted projects for both public and private sector clients throughout southern Ontario.

As the Senior Municipal Engineer/Project Manager – Linear Projects you will be responsible for managing the design and project management of multi-million dollar water/wastewater and other infrastructure construction projects, such as large municipal water mains and sewers. 

Your primary focus will be designing and project management of municipal infrastructure projects such as; linear infrastructure, water mains, sewers, trenchless technologies, regional road and intersection design. Responsible for the design of new and/or reconstruction of linear water and wastewater projects (large diameter feedermains and sewers), as well as the preparation of servicing reports, cost estimates, work programs, project budgets, proposals and other administrative duties.  

Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 15+ years of municipal infrastructure design for Public Sector projects in Southern Ontario
  • Familiarity with local planning/approval process
  • Strong understanding of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • PMP Certification is a preferred asset
  • Professional Engineer designation in Ontario
  • Knowledge and application of Ontario Environmental standards and guidelines.
  • Large watermain and/or sewer design experience for GTA Regional Municipalities
  • Trenchless Technologies
  • Regional Road and intersection design would be considered beneficial
Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the design of public sector municipal servicing projects under the direction of one of our Principals.
  • Actively participate in the design and provide direction to  the design team throughout the design process
  • Liaise with the various municipal/utility/approval agencies. 
  • Be responsible for project budgets, project schedules, and client communications.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major water/wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Apply proven design experience including conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs 
  • Manage design and project execution for municipal infrastructure projects including: wastewater, water resources, design, engineer, sewers, water mains, water main, feedermains
  • Mentor and coach a team of engineers and technologists
  • Contribute to RFP, Bid and Proposal documents

  • The position reports to one of the three Founding Partners at TMIG.
