Senior Project Manager

Summary
The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership in managing projects related to medium to large-scale subdivision design, including costs and budgets, scope & scheduling, and project status.  
Leading large complex projects while delivering exceptional results on behalf of our client’s expectations. Utilize technical expertise to develop new business; foster teamwork and mentoring to strengthen the firm's development of junior and intermediate staff. This senior position requires an absolute commitment to technical excellence and dedication to the growth of the Land Development Group along with our Quality Control / Quality Assurance program at TMIG.
Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assist with business development opportunities that may help identify new business opportunities, build and maintain key customer relationships and assist with increasing our current market position in land development.
Provide guidance, mentoring and management to a team of Professionals in order to secure more projects 
Build and maintain client relationships in order to further grow the business 
Maintain a good relationship with both internal and external stakeholders and provide expertise when necessary

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with municipal/ approval agencies as well as developers and land owners.
  • Lead residential/commercial land development projects ranging in scope between preliminary servicing investigation, master/functional servicing studies, to detailed design assignment on site plans and medium/large sized residential subdivisions 
  • Guide the team to establish consistency and quality assurance processes in the production of all deliverables, and manage the quality control of all submission materials. 
  • Train, manage and mentor  junior/intermediate team members on the various facets of land development infrastructure design
  • As required, design aspects of subdivision work, the reconstruction of roads,  municipal servicing and stormwater management including design of ponds and channels
  • Obtain all necessary approvals, preparation of servicing reports, cost estimates, work programs, project budgets, proposals and other administrative duties
  • Provide input as required to inspection staff to resolve challenges that arise during construction
  • Participate in business development, maintain strong client relationships, identify and follow through on strategic opportunities. 
  • Attend industry related conferences and events.
  • Participate in company-wide quality initiatives and improvements through quality objectives such as facilitating departmental level quality plans and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience & Education
  • 15+ years of experience in the area of Land Development design and Municipal projects in the Greater Toronto Area 
  • Professional Engineer of Ontario License complemented by a PMP Designation is preferred.  
  • Significant experience leading subdivision development projects from an engineering perspective, including design, coordination and approvals.
  • Significant experience in detail design engineering for subdivision projects, with a strong desire to lead the implementation of  large complex projects
  • Good knowledge of municipal engineering systems; design principles; and AutoCAD
  • Forensic approach to solving problems and providing information to clients
  • Strong writing and overall communication skills
  • A positive attitude and personable, team oriented approach
